To achieve long-term health benefits, your heart rate should rise during physical activity. Depending on your fitness goals, your Target Heart Rate during exercise should be between 60-85% of the maximum number of times your heart can safely beat in one minute. For improved cardiovascular health, it is recommended that you exercise at your target heart rate at least 3-5 times per week for at least 20 minutes each time.
