How do you know which wellness programs are of interest to your employees? How can you tell if your employees are satisfied with your current corporate culture? Ask them! BHeard, Buffett & Company’s online survey system enables employers to gauge employee thoughts and interests in a variety of areas, including corporate culture, worksite wellness, health risk, and more. The benefit of a third party wellness administrator gathering employee feedback is the assurance of employee confidentiality through aggregatereporting back to the employer. This tool not only provides convenience, accessibility, and confidentiality to the employee, but also maximizes efficiency and comparability of data for the employer.
Gone are the days of manual registration via mail,
fax, and phone, which is great news for administrators
and wellness program participants alike. BThere, Buffett & Company’s online registration tool allows employees access to program registration 24 hours
per day, 7 days per week. Employees use a pass-code to view details of upcoming wellness initiatives (ie. behaviour modification programs, presentations, workshops, screening clinics, health fairs, flu immunization clinics, and more) and self-register for their desired location and time to attend events, eliminating the need for returned calls and personal confirmations. For employees who do not have convenient access to the internet, alternate registration methods are available (ie. telephone hotline, etc.)
Buffett & Company’s BWell Challenge System engages employees in friendly competition against colleagues in a race to be more active, eat more nutritiously, and/or reduce stress levels. This online tool is accessible 24 hours per days, 7 days per week and employees manage their own player profiles. Players can view team standings and compare themselves against other players/teams/departments in the race for the finish line. Buffett & Company wellness professionals guide the challenge process, offering tips for players and providing updates to all teams on a weekly basis. In addition to the targeted outcomes of BWell Challenges (ie. better fitness, nutrition, and stress management), clients and their employees report increased morale, teamwork, and camaraderie. Aggregate reporting features of the BWell Challenge System provide comparable data and demonstrate levels of employee engagement. BWell Challenges are offered either as stand-alone initiatives, or rolled into comprehensive worksite wellness programs.
The BWell Healthy You System tracks employee cardiovascular risk factors annually and produces both personal, comparative reports for employees and aggregate, comparative reports for employers. As software support for Buffett & Company’s BWell Healthy You Program, the BWell Healthy You System is used exclusively by Buffett & Company wellness professionals onsite during employee assessments and for subsequent report generation. The BWell Healthy You Program and System meet all criteria for wellness program effectiveness and sustainability, addressing time and cost effectiveness, employee engagement and convenience, comparable outcomes, and significant return-on-investment data. Heart Health, Workplace Wellness & Return-on-Investment, a report by Buffett & Company featured in the November 2004 issue of Canadian Healthcare Manager demonstrates
a return-on-investment of $4.15 for every dollar invested into the program.
To maintain a cost-effective, employee-friendly, high-impact worksite wellness program, technology and human energy must work together. Buffett & Company’s proprietary software and online tools are based on over 25 years of experience in the industry. All tools have been developed to address employer needs and maximize participation rates, convenience, and positive outcomes of employees. Buffett & Company will continue to do what it does best: develop effective and sustainable worksite wellness programming and technological solutions, so Canadian organizations can successfully meet their business goals.
