 This past week, to kick off their Corporate Giving Program, the Buffett & Company team rolled up their sleeves to help local charity WindReach Farm. Motivated to give back to the community and enhance the health and well-being of those who benefit from the farm, Buffett & Company happily donated an afternoon of staff time to perform an extreme home makeover on the chicken coop. In a matter of hours, and after lots of sweat and plenty of laughs, the friendly and feisty chickens had a freshly painted and landscaped coop to call home.
Located in Ashburn, Ontario, just 10 minutes north of Whitby, WindReach Farm offers experiences in farming, nature, outdoor recreation, therapeutic riding and other activities that enrich the lives of people with special needs. Their unique offering of activities builds confidence, self-esteem and deepens participants’ sense of independence and accomplishment. Volunteer driven, WindReach depends on individuals to assist with farm maintenance and chores.
