Ed Buffett has devoted himself to improving health, health care and wellness in Canada.
He is president and CEO of Buffett & Company, a firm specializing in worksite wellness.
A member of the federal government’s Action Research Roundtable on Workplace Wellbeing, Buffett also served on the board of HealNet and convened the Toronto Health Summit which inspired the creation of the Wellness Council of Canada. Buffett became
the council’s first chair and later joined the board of the Wellness Council of America.
Buffett was recognized as one of fourteen “Canadian wellness heroes” in Physical Fitness and Wellness and he was one of the inaugural recipients of the Who’s Who in HealthCare Award. He has a vast volunteer resumé that includes chairing the boards of at least six health and community organizations in and around his home in Whitby.
Buffett served on the campaign cabinets for both McMaster’s “Changing Tomorrow Today” campaign and the Athletics & Recreation Centre and Stadium campaign. He has
established a scholarship for medical students and the Buffett & Company Chair in Breast Cancer Research. Buffett is also a former chair of the University’s Board of Governors.
