Buffett & Company has donated over $110,000 in bursaries for post-secondary education. Ongoing endowments at McMaster University and Centennial College provide annual financial assistance to students in the health sciences and members of the McMaster Marauders football team. Additionally, Buffett & Company provides co-operative education placements and mentoring opportunities in the areas of workplace health, human resources and information technology to secondary school and post-graduate students.
Ed Buffett, President and CEO of Buffett & Company, has been a board member and chair of McMaster University, contributing time and expertise to the university since 2000.
According to the Canadian Cancer Society, one in nine Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Buffett & Company is in the process of funding a chair for breast cancer research at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario to help in the fight against this pervasive disease.
Buffett & Company has contributed the BWell Employee Interest Survey to Comprehensive Workplace Health Promotion: Recommended and Promising Practices for Situational Assessment Tools, a resource manual compiled by the Health Communications Unit at the Centre for Health Promotion, University of Toronto.
As a member and partner of the National Quality Institute, Buffett & Company provides an advisory committee member and assessor for the Canada Awards for Excellence process.
Buffett & Company has proudly sponsored local sports teams, Scouts Canada and the Children’s Aid Society. In addition to financial support, Buffett & Company donates employee time and company space to support local sports and Scouts Canada. Collectively, Buffett & Company employees donate money and time to support local families during the holiday season via the Children’s Aid Society.
